Think of automation as doing a repetitive task with minimal human intervention. Distribution Automation refers to automation of repetitive tasks on the electric utility's distribution system. To understand Automation, we must first look at the manual tasks the utility does. There are a number or tasks that must be repeated in operating a utility.
