Recent Advances in Electric Grid Optimization (Slides)

In this presentation, Dr. Sun will present recent research progress of his group on the decarbonization of electric energy systems and discuss their impacts on industry practices. He will also share his vision in creating a more collaborative future for electric energy systems. In particular, Dr. Sun will present new decision-making frameworks for overcoming three key challenges in the future electric power grids: 1) deep renewable penetration, 2) distributed generation, and 3) the increasing risk of grid infrastructure failure. He will also discuss the implications of these new decision tools in the ISO and utility industry.
