Future Smart Grid operations should be driven by multi-player decentralized decision-making in the scope of a competitive market environment. The many involved players have different natures, functions and goals, many of which are contradictory due to competition. However, they also depend on the accomplishment of common goals. In this context, both technical and market data must be used to support the player's decision-making and ensure the required quality and security levels. Adequate data mining methods and tools are required to extract valuable information and knowledge from the huge amounts of data produced by the involved SCADA systems and market operation. This panel will present new solutions and discuss the challenges ahead regarding the data analysis and mining techniques and tools that can be used in the new context.
