As a utility considers the Volt/VAR Control (VVC) control scheme to implement and the technologies to deploy, it must develop a methodology to categorize its feeders to prioritize the installation of VVC equipment, determine how to design the feeders to optimize the VVC benefits with the newly installed equipment, implement a proven methodology to accurately quantify the impacts of VVC, and perform a cost-benefit analysis to prove the value of the VVC program as compared to other energy-efficiency and demand response programs.
