How to make a successful path in the Power Engineering career

Doug Houseman is a long-time member of the IEEE. He started life in an electrical family and wondered through many life changes, goal changes, and finally settled back in the electrical world. He has been lucky enough to work for utilities around the world from Antarctica to Canada and from Chili to Norway. He has been even luckier to get a chance to lead committees and working groups full of people who are way smarter than he is. IEEE, NIST, DOE, EU, GWAC, and more have given him a chance to learn and make a difference. Now he is mostly giving back to young engineers at his place of work and many of his clients.
