Traditional power engineering curriculums for undergraduate and graduate students are changing to incorporate smart grid innovations. Such innovations include new grid technologies, communications and information technologies, cybersecurity, control, and big data. The topics discussed in smart grid engineering education will touch on all three themes of this ISGT conference. A major topic of technologies will over smart grid enabling technologies, communications and information technologies, and consumer technologies that touch on the Enernet of Things. For utility and service provider topics, there will be discussions of how these new technologies can be used to improve grid operations and control. Cross-cutting topics include cybersecurity, new grid architectures, and grid control under new paradigms,
such as transactive energy systems.
