Keynote 15 Mar 2023

Many countries have made commitments to deliver net-zero. To achieve net-zero requires power grids to contend with several issues. The journey to net-zero also needs to take place in the context of many utility asset bases maturing and requiring interventions to efficiently ensure continued security of supply.

To address these aspects some solutions already exist and are being adopted. For other issues the technologies are maturing and the economics increasingly becoming more attractive.

With many countries targeting 2050 as a timeline to achieve net-zero coupled with the rate of advancement of innovation today, there will also be technologies that we don't know about today that will come to fruition. This keynote will outline the issues being addressed to ensure preparedness in the power grids of the future.
