Computational Tools and Models for Integration of Distributed Energy Resources

This decade will see an escalating grown in the penetration of distributed energy resources (DER) within both urban and rural distribution systems. The panel will explore modeling techniques and challenges associated with the integration of distributed resources. The panel will begin with an examination of power flow tools suitable for DER studies. This will be followed with presentation of a benchmark distribution network model and a collection time domain models for various emerging distributed energy resources, including solar photovoltaic systems.
