Electric power grid is a complex cyber physical system (CPS) that forms the lifeline of modern society, and its reliable and secure operation is of paramount importance to national security and economic well- being. Recent findings, documented in government reports and literature, indicate the growing threat of cyber-based attacks in numbers and sophistication on power grid infrastructure. Moreover, increasing adoption of smart grid technologies could potentially increase the cyber exposure to attacks. The goal of this panel session is to advance the state-of-the-art R&D in cyber security and resiliency of the smart grid. In particular, the panel?s topics include: opportunities and challenges that cyber security testbeds present; the state of cyber security testbeds and their applications; design and deployment experiences; cyber attack-defense evaluations; and novel CPS security testbed architectures and enabling applica- tions. Panelists are experts from academia, national laboratories, and industries.
