Smart Grid investments promise access to vast amounts of data regarding the operation and condition of the transmission and distribution assets and systems in the US Capital region and elsewhere. This panel will address the challenges around ?big data?; the role of AMI data, current experience and future vision; the role of data from smart devices in the substation and in the field; and the role of synchrophasor data, both at the transmission and distribution levels, focusing on the data handling and analytics at the distri- bution level.
