Microgrids improve the ride-through capabilities of critical loads in natural disasters and grid distur- bances. This panel will review several examples where microgrids provided critical loads with uninter- rupted, extended, or flexible operation during a contingency situation where grid power was not available or unreliable. The panelists will relate their experiences with microgrids during and after natural disaster events and large scale grid outages.
