This panel will reintroduce the basics of electric distribution metrics and benchmarking along with recent updates published in 2022. The panelists will discuss the revisions to 1366 and 1782 introduced in 2022 and how to apply the changes to increase the value of outage data collected. Topics include definitions, outage categorization, use of the IEEE benchmarking wizard, and application of 1366 and 1782. The panel is comprised of authors of the 1366 and 1782 revisions and represent utilities, regulators, and service providers with nearly 100 years of collective experience.
