Hundreds of inverter based resources that are connected to today’s bulk power network have under-utilized capability. This leads to inefficient use of these resources when it comes to maintaining system stability. This panel will discuss methods to activate this capability and the benefit/impact it can have. An additional point would be to discuss this without using the words Grid Forming as the key factor to be identified is the performance capability of the resource.
