IoT technology is currently entering its golden age as a result of rapid technological advancements, allowing data to be stored and processed remotely and making industries more productive. For example, the integration of IoT and blockchain has enabled distributed resources to participate in power system operation and control as transactive energy, serving both the grids and customers. As IoT-enabled distributed resources continue to penetrate, their values and impacts on the electric power grids remain to be explored. This panel aims to bring experts from both academia and industry to discuss and explore 1) the emerging IoT applications in power systems 2) the impacts of IoT on power system operations.
