Panel 19 Jul 2023

Energy storage is critical for enabling low-carbon power systems. Further deployment of this technology, however, depends on the revenue opportunities in electricity and ancillary service markets and the rules that govern them. In this panel, a set of leading experts will discuss how energy storage systems could secure and stack revenues from near real-time markets to day-ahead markets to years-ahead capacity remuneration mechanisms. The focus of the panel is on market, modeling and regulatory barriers for energy storage participation in markets, and how state-of-the-art mathematical tools may help to overcome these barriers. Presentations in this panel session: - Strategy matters: How to use the electricity systemís most flexible asset in ERCOT (23PESGM3861)
