Panel 19 Jul 2023

Recent extreme weather events have severely impacted electric power grids and resulted in prolonged power outages. Several tools have been developed to measure and enhance grid resilience. These tools include proactive rescheduling and rerouting of available resources, hardening system components, cyber-resilient systems, etc. This panel will bring experts and researchers from industry, research institutions, and academia to discuss, share gained knowledge and experiences, and provide perspectives on current practices of, challenges to, future directions for improving electric power grid resilience. Presentations in this panel session: - Cyber-resilient Power Systems (23PESGM0858) - How North American Electric Reliability Corporation measures and tracks resilience of the Bulk Power System (23PESGM0859) - North American Energy Resilience Model (NAERM) (23PESGM4420)

Chairs:
Mohammed Ben-Idris, Michael Abdelmalak
Primary Committee:
Analytic Methods for Power Systems (AMPS)
Sponsor Committees:
Reliability and Risk Analysis
