Panel 17 Jul 2023

Power systems are rapidly evolving from machine-dominated electromechanical systems to power electronics dominated electromagnetic systems. In such a paradigm shift, a need for high-fidelity accurate electromagnetic transient modeling and simulation of large-scale power systems is recognized as an urgent need in the industry. However, the large computational complexity involved is a big barrier, limiting electromagnetic transients simulation to small networks. This panel brings together researchers, software vendors, and industry experts to discuss the latest and greatest in high-performance innovative electromagnetic transients simulation for large-scale power systems and to present their perspectives on solving this challenging problem. Presentations in this panel session: - Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing in Electromagnetic Transients Simulation (23PESGM4105)
