With the soon to be available capabilities of IEEE 1547-2018 compliant DERs, there is an urgent need to better refine the impacts that DER settings/functionality for bulk power system stability aims have on distribution-centric objectives such as power quality and protection. A compromise may be necessary between distribution and bulk power system needs and the analysis to gauge these impacts is the focus of this panel.
