Energy adequacy - ensuring fuel is available during times of system stress- has gained increased visibility due to recent extreme events and is likely to become more important in a system more dependent on gas power in the coming decade and energy limited resources in the longer term. This panel will focus on recent developments in the area, with input from system operators, utilities and regulators on the current and evolving practices to ensure adequacy. This will include discussion of the tools available to assess adequacy, data and model needs and how planning and operating practices may need to evolve to address the challenges in the area. Researchers will also describe new methods and techniques.
