Recognizing the need for generic dynamic models to represent renewable resources, several organizations in the Unites States and Europe have led concerted efforts to develop such models. This work spans several years and has resulted in the implementation of generic models of renewable power plants in several commercial transient stability programs. From their inception, it was recognized that the models needed to be updated and enhanced to reflect the evolving inverter-based technologies and the experiences acquired in the field. The objective of this panel session is to disseminate, document, and discuss the latest experiences and insights acquired by researchers, software developers, and users of the generic models.
