Artificial Intelligence (AI) has evolved over the last 50 years to transform operations and control of complex systems. Modern power systems are complex systems. This panel will address performance metrics currently used by the power and energy industry for evaluating traditional approaches for system operations, control, and management, and how such metrics and new ones can be extended to evaluate AI approaches. AI approaches need to be benchmarked against current state-of-the-art approaches for their rapid deployment by the industry.
