2020 PES GM 8/6 Panel Session: The Impacts that Distributed Energy Resources are Having on Bulk Power System Planning and Operations

This panel will explore the impacts that aggregate amounts of DER are having on the bulk power system in terms of operations and planning. This panel will highlight industry efforts to address these growing impact, including updates to dynamic modeling and studies practices, means of verifying suitable performance from DER and the dynamic models, coordination across the T-D interface, implementation and adoption of IEEE 1547-2018, and operational issues affecting stability, frequency response, voltage control, etc.
