2020 PES GM 8/5 Panel Session: Utilizing distribution system assets and DER for transmission system voltage stability

Focus of this panel will be analyzing challenges and opportunities with enhanced Distributed Energy Resources, associated control and flexibility in distribution system and how it impacts the voltage stability of the transmission system. This is an important issue specially as increasing control and resources changes the aggregated load behavior and dynamic behavior of distribution system within transmission system and hence directly impacting voltage stability of the transmission systems. These issues also include power electronics interfaces devices and control mode/limits impacting the voltage stability of the bulk system including emergency control.
