Panel Session 05 Aug 2020

With the increased penetration of power generated from solar photovoltaic systems, maintaining grid voltage stability is becoming increasingly complex and challenging in power distribution and transmission systems. In addition, voltage and reactive power control are also important for the stability of the grid and solar PV systems during low and high ride-through conditions. This panel brings experts from industry and academy to present experiences obtained and challenges faced by the PV industry in Volt/VAR control of PV systems during normal and low/high voltage ride through conditions, and recent advances in this area to reduce grid voltage variability, improve the grid stability, and enhance the ability of PV systems for low and high voltage ride through.
