Panel 12 Aug 2019

A Global Energy Internet (EI) integrates all forms of energy based on information flow via the Internet. In January 2011, the Energy Internet was described in the Proceedings of the IEEE. In July 2014, Energy production and consumption have kept increasing as economies grow. The large-scale development and utilization of fossil energy has resulted in serious problems such as resource shortage, environmental pollution and climate change. Energy internet is among the few major technological development areas for energy and the next generation ICT technologies. It is the next level of smart grid technology aiming for more renewable penetrations and greater prosumer participation. In this panel, speakers from different countries will talk about their experience and good practices in this area and also future trend.
