Panel Session 06 Aug 2019

With the expansion in scale and complexity of the power grids, it is of great important to analyze and study the economics, reliability and security of power systems by mining massive amount of grid data. It is very challenging to generate knowledge from the heterogeneous big data set automatically to identify customer behavior, increase transmission line transfer capacity, identify system disturbance, perform online equipment diagnosis, assess system stability, and perform emergency controls. The deep learning and data mining algorithms have great potential in analyzing power system operating data and extracting useful operation rules. At last, it is critical to develop new big data applications in power systems. In this panel session, the advanced big data analytics algorithms and applications for power systems will be discussed.
