This document addresses issues with setting up 3D models of transmission lines to calculate the electric field (E-field) accurately and effectively. Modeling software have become robust and capable of complex problem solving but without careful consideration of model creation and solution parameters, the results can be inaccurate, or the modeling time can become long. This paper identifies several situations where modelers can improve both accuracy and efficiency by understanding the modeling choices available.
