The last time this tutorial was presented, it was titled, "Fundamentals of Supervisory Control." But, supervisory control is now defined by ANSI C37.1 as "an arrangement for operator control and supervision of remotely located apparatus, using multiplexing techniques over a relatively small number of interconnecting channels." Supervisory council no longer accurately describes the kind of systems used by today's electric utilities.
