While there has been a large investment and efforts in synchrophasors based pilot projects, there are very less number of control implementation and industry grade solutions. Some of the early PMU appli-cations for bulk power system operation include angle monitoring, state estimation, oscillation monitoring, voltage stability, event analysis and post-marten analysis. Number of other applications being explored includes model validation, managing renewable energy generation, system restoration, adaptive protec-tion and real time control. Even if there are synchrophasor based industry-grade solutions, control center are not taking them from pilot-grade to full-fledge control center implementation as expected. This panel will look at challenges and possible solutions in implementing synchrophasors solutions at the control center.
